Meet the Governors
Carol Olivier has recently retired from a 40 year career in Teaching.
During that time she worked in Primary schools as a class teacher and as a deputy and acting headteacher.
She was chair of London Drama, a professional association for teachers with an interest in drama in education.
She now lives in Ebberston.
Originally from Middlesbrough, I was ordained in 1997 and have served in parishes at Usworth (Washington) and Monkwearmouth (Sunderland) before becoming Vicar of five churches here in Upper Derwent (including Snainton). Throughout my ministry I have always been a Governor at a Primary School in my area. I am proud to be a Foundation Governor at Snainton C of E Primary School since 2006, and am keen to strengthen the link between the church and the school, and support the Governors and staff in any way I can. I am also a foundation governor at Wykeham CE Primary School. As an ex-officio Foundation Governor my term of office is on-going with no end date
I have been a governor since May 2015. I am from a farming background and have lived in Snainton all my life, with the exception of 4 years, where I lived in Leeds as part of my job. I work as a financial advisor and this role helps me assist the other governors in making financial decisions about the school.
In my spare time I like to play netball, go horse riding and take my two dogs Eva and Mia for long walks!
