What have we been learning?
Oak Class News – Spring Term
Welcome back to a new term and a new year in Oak Class, hopefully Father Christmas was kind and you all a calm and restful break.
We continue to develop our learning environment to address the children’s needs and interests so look out for more changes as the term develops. We have kicked off January by looking up at the stars in response to George’s question “how could we get to space with no rockets?” Three days in and we have already worked as a team to generate ideas, build a space rocket (cardboard is not suitable!) and learn from our mistakes.
This term we hope to arrange, weather being a major factor in setting a date, a whole school Stargazing and Story event after school. If there are any astronomers out there who would like to get in touch, then please do. Within Oak Class we will be spending more time out in the local area as well as braving the bus to Ayton library. Oak Class has changed a lot over the past year, we now follow the children’s interests seizing the teachable moments to move learning forward, and we want to share what we do with you. With this in mind we hope to hold monthly drop in mornings so that you can come and learn alongside your child and share in their journey. If you are interested in this, then please let me know.
The weather is turning colder at the minute, please can you make sure that hat, gloves and scarfs are packed so that we can enjoy exploring the outdoors environment.
