Snainton Church of England Primary School opened in 1891. Originally it was built to serve the village of Snainton but now welcomes families from surrounding towns and villages. Our staff are committed to securing the very best outcomes for every child. To achieve this, we work closely with families and the local community.
A nursery was opened at the school in 2016. Places are available for 2-4 year old children in nursery and the early years curriculum is followed. The outdoor area was refurbished, following funding from the North Yorkshire Coast Opportunity Area, to add a large shelter enabling the outdoor learning environment to be used in all weather. Staff are friendly and welcoming and our children flourish in a nurturing environment.
Extensive redecoration and refurbishment was carried out throughout 2018-19 to update learning environments and to dedicate space for Collective Worship each day. Our classrooms are calm spaces and free from clutter. We believe this creates purposeful learning environments and our children tell us it helps them to remain on task and have less distractions surrounding them. Our timetable means that our lessons are a maximum of 50 minutes in length to provide shorter, more regular breaks in the school day.
We carefully plan opportunities to open our doors to share the life of our school with visitors. We hope to welcome you to one of our events.
