Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
In accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), where an organisation has received an allegation that a volunteer or member of staff who works with children has:
- behaved in a way that has harmed a child, or may have harmed a child;
- possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child; or
- behaved or may have behaved in a way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children; or
- behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates they may pose a risk of harm to children

Operation encompass
Operation Encompass, has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur outside of normal school hours and that might have had an impact on a child attending our school the following day. This information will be shared at the earliest opportunity between Monday and Friday. When an incident occurs over the weekend the school will be notified on the Monday by the police. A nominated member of school staff, known as a key adult, will receive the information from the police. They will be able to use the information that has been shared with them, in confidence, to ensure that our school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children or their families. Information will be shared where it is identified that a child or young person was present, witnessed or was involved in a domestic abuse incident.
