Meet the Governors

Carol Olivier

Carol Olivier (Chair of Governors)

I have recently retired from a fulfilling 40 year career in Teaching.

During that time I worked in Primary schools as a class teacher and as a Deputy and Acting Headteacher.

I was chair of London Drama, a professional association for teachers with an interest in drama in education.

I enjoy Tai Chi and dancing.

I now live in Ebberston and I am very happy to be involved in this lovely local school.

I have worked as a primary teacher for over 10 years and have experience in working in a range of settings from inner London schools to small rural schools within North Yorkshire. I have led many different subjects and aim to use this knowledge in my governor role. There is something particularly special about being part of smaller church schools and I feel lucky to have a role in supporting this lovely school.

During my free time, I enjoy yoga, badminton and reading as many books as possible.

My family have recently moved to the area and our two daughters joined the school. We have all been very impressed with the ethos and culture of the school. I was keen to put myself forward to be a parent governor to support the running of the school.

I am a Graduate of the University of Lancaster and I’ve worked in procurement for 12 years both in the public and private sectors. Currently, I am a Manager within the NHS managing a number of national frameworks.  I also have experience as a director of two successful small companies.

Outside of work we love to take our cockapoo for a walk in Dalby Forest and I am also a big sports fan with a particular interest in cricket and football.

I am the staff governor for our school and work as a teaching assistant in Maple Class. I have been a class teacher for 12 years previous to this and a governor for over 5 years.

My son attends Snainton school, also giving me a parent perspective. I have worked across all three classes during my time here, allowing me to work with every child and get to know them well.

My 2 daughters have recently started attending the school and I was eager to join as a parent governor to help support such a wonderful school.

I graduated university with a degree in Equine Studies and Business Management but I am currently a full time mum.
Before joining the school I was on the committee for my daughters previous nursery which I thoroughly enjoyed.

During my free time I enjoy a range of outdoor activities but will also happily get lost in a good book.
